In college scatter plots the numbers are displayed as a set of points, each having the value of one variable formative the position on the horizontal axis and the other variable formative the position on the vertical axis. This type of plot is also called as scatter plot.

The line graphs that uses vertical and horizontal axis to plot data points is known as scatter point. Though, they have a very exact reason. It shows that one of the variables is affected by another. Correlation is defined as the relationship between two variables.
It consists of a huge amount of data. The data points arrive closer when plotted to make a straight line, the higher the correlation among the two variables.

Scatter plots are widely used in colleges. Scatter plots are mainly used for plotting large set of data. College level Scatter plots provides a correlation between the variables results in the clustering of data points along a line.

4. Does the variation in Y change depending on X?

Scatter plots can be combined in many plots per page to help know higher-level structure in data sets with more than two variables. The plot of Y versus X reliant on the value of another variable is known as conditioning plot.
There are two types of correlation positive and negative correlation. If the line leave from the origin and goes to high x- and y-values, then they are said to be in a positive correlation. Negative correlation is defined as the larger value of y – axis goes down to the larger value of x – axis.
