Research Variables Examples


Each value has a symbol for representation. This symbol is called as variable.The non varying value also have a symbol. It denote the constant. Mathematics, science, engineering and computer program are use the variables for computation. In equation solving, the unknown values are represented by using variable. The manipulation rule is used for these symbols. Researcher research the variables in different formats.

Explanation for variables with examples:

Notations:

The normal symbols for variables are x, y, z and t. Each defined as single symbol. The a, b,c are symbols for constant. Italic typeface is used in mathematics. Some particular naming conventions also used for variables. The random variables are denoted as X, Y and Z in statistics. The convention method is change the random variable symbols as x, y and z.

General explanation using research result:

Open sentences are use the variables. For example, X + 3 = 6, here the unknown number is represented as ‘x’. This x is variable. Most commonly Greek or Roman letters are used for variable representation.The variables are illustrate the quantitative relationship in basic way by research.

Types of variables:

Independent and dependent variables:

The experimenter is manipulate the variable. This variable is called as independent variable.

The effect of independent variable is asked by experiment. The dependent variable is release the depression.

Qualitative and quantitative variables:

Qualitative attributes are defined by qualitative variables. Examples for this variable is color, gender, favorites.

The quantitative variables are which one is measured by number. Examples for quantitative variables are weight, height and dress size.

Discrete and continuous variables:

The scale has discrete points. Each possible scores are combined with variable. Examples for discrete variable is “number of children in house is 5”.

The scale doesnot have discrete steps and has continuous.Examples for continuous variable is “the experiment value is 1.2653”.

If we want to research the variables, use the convention and manipulation rules and we can explain with simple examples.
