Here we are going to see the tangent inverse function ,first of all we are ground to see the definition of the tangent function it is defined as the ratio between the length of the opposite value and the length of the adjacent value ,then we have to be defined as the inverse of the tangent function ,it is defined as the ratio between the length of the adjacent value to the length of the opposite value ,it is used for finding the angle of the triangle and also the side length of the triangle

definition of inverse tangent function
We can explain the tangent inverse function with the help of the right angle triangle,
Here the right angle triangle are shown AB is the opposite side ,C is the hypotenuse value of the right angle triangle ,and BC is the adjacent value of the right angle triangle .so the formula of the tangent x will be shown as below ,
Tan x = opposite / adjacent
And the tangent x will be written s in terms of it is inverse function cot x,
Tangent x = 1 / cot x
We can write the tangent x with the sin x and the cos x function it will be shown as bellows,
Tangent x = sin x / cos x
First we are going to see the graph of the tangent function the we will see the graph of the inverse tangent function.
Using the graph we can find the amplitude and the time period the sin and the cos graph are shown as the wave for but the tangent graph is show as different we have to notice one thing here there is no cap between the wave curve we called as the sin and the cos but here we can see the gap ,so this j=kind of gap is called as the discontinuity but Ian the sin curve we can not se the graph s o the sin curve are called as the continuous graph
