Solving Online Regular Right Prism

The prism shapes are formed by the upper base and the lower base which are formed by the n sided regular polygons. The edges of the two sides are connected together by the n number of faces. The prisms are three dimensional shapes with all the sides covered and have a volume inside it. In the following article we will discuss more about the solving online regular right prism in detail.

More about More about online regular right prism help:

The regular prisms are formed by the n sided regular polygons. In a right regular prism the n sided regular polygonal base is at right angles with the faces of the prism. The formula for the area and the volume of right regular prism with the n sided polygonal base are,
Total surface area = `[(n*S^2*cot (pi/ N))/2] + S*H*N`
Volume of prism = `[H*S^2* N *cot (pi/ N)]/4`

Example problems on solving online regular right prism:

1. For a triangular prism with the side length of the base as 5 cm and the height of the base as 10 cm, find the area and the volume of the prism.
Solution:
Total surface area = `[N*S^2 cot (pi/ N)]/2 + S*H* N`
    = `[3*5^2*cot (pi /3)]/2 + 3*5*10`
    = `(3*25*0.577) + 150`
    = `43.27 + 150`
    = `193.27` `cm^2`
The volume of the prism = `[N *H*S^2 cot (pi/ N)]/4`
    = `[3*5^2*10*cot (pi/3)]/4`
    = `[750*0.577]/4`
    = `187.5*0.577`
    = `108.1 cm^3`
