Alien addition is the basic mathematical operation in mathematics. The symbol ‘+’ represent addition. The addition can be performed in the real numbers and also complex numbers. The alien addition can also perform in the algebra. Alien addition uses the commutative and the distributive law. General binary operation is also performed with the help of the alien addition.

Examples for alien addition:

  Example 1 for alien addition:

          Perform addition for the numbers 67 and 94.

  Solution:

          The given two numbers are 67 and 94.

          Perform addition for the given numbers.

                              67   +

                              94

                        ------------

                            161

                        ------------

          The addition of the numbers 67 and 64 are 161.

  Example 2 for alien addition:

          Find the sum of the complex numbers 3+2 i and 7+ 6 i.

  Solution:

          The given complex numbers are 3+2 i and 7+ 6 i.

          We have to find the sum for the given complex numbers. In this complex number addition perform addition separately for the real part and perform addition for the imaginary part.

                   3+ 2 i

                  7+ 6 i

              --------------

               10+ 8 i

              --------------

          The sum of the complex numbers 3+2 i and 7+ 6i are 10 + 8 i.

  Example 3 for alien addition:

          Find the sum of the two algebraic equations 16 x+ 12 y =1 and 2 x +33 y = 3.

  Solution:

          The given algebraic equations are 16 x+ 12 y =1 and 2 x +33 y = 3.

          The left side of the equation added separately and right side of the equation is added separately.

               (16 x+ 12 y) + (2 x + 33 y) = 1 + 3

               (16 x+ 2 x) + (12 x + 33 y) = 4

                                    18 x + 45 y = 4

          So the addition of the two algebraic equations are 16 x+ 12 y =1 and 2 x +33 y = 3 is 18 x + 45 y = 4.

  Example 4 for alien addition:

           Find the addition for the quadratic equations x² + 3x + 4 =9 and 5x² + 5x + 12= 10.

  Solution:

           The given equations are x² + 3x + 4 =0 and 5x² + 5x + 12= 0.

           Add the coefficient according to the power of x.

           First add the coefficient of x², then add the coefficient of x and then add then add the constants.

                      (x² + 3x + 4) + (5x² + 5x + 12)= 0

                       (1 +5) x² + (3 +5) x + (4 + 12)= 0

                                              6 x² + 8x + 16= 0

            The addition for the quadratic equations x² + 3x + 4 =9 and 5x² + 5x + 12= 10 are 6 x² + 8x + 16 =0.

• Find the solution for 12 + 3i and 6 + 4i

              Answer: 18 + 7i
